INVISIBLE PLANET

Invisible Planet is an exhibition in collaboration with Virginia Russo. The show investigates themes of belonging through an imagined alternative world. Russo created The Planet, representing untouched beauty and the raw wonder of creation as well as a refuge for neurodivergent people. Smolin's flamboyant and androgynous characters, as visitors on The Planet, challenge gender norms and societal expectations and deliver condensed psycho-symbolic imagery that deals with themes of identity, religion, oppression, and conformity.
